Getting
to know me!
Teacher Tips We all need attention, acceptance and appreciation. A good way to help your child develop a positive self-image is by making a Butterfly School "Me" book. A "Me" book is a wonderful way to help your child articulate his preferences. Make sure to read the book a few times in the next week. It helps reinforce the idea that you value your child's work! Interviewing -- When you are on the go, play interview with your child. Take turns being the interviewer. Ask questions & listen carefully to your child's answers. This will give your child the chance to answer, "I'm the kind of kid who likes . . .." Here are some sample questions: "What is your favorite street sign?" "What color clothing do you like the best?" If you have an audio recorder or video camera, this is a great thing to record. Your children will enjoy watching it now & in years to come. If you have two children or more, record them interviewing each other!
